Lions’ fancy dress race was a great success

FROM BURY TIMES – FRIDAY 3 NOVEMBER 2005

WE would like to thank the competitors and their sponsors who took part in our sponsored fancy dress three-legged race. It was a great success, with 17 teams taking part. It started at the Waggon and Horses at Hawkshaw and finished at the Good Samaritan in Ramsbottom, a total of three miles.

All the money raised, around £1,100, will go to charity – half to the North Manchester Amputee Society, the remainder to the chosen charities which are Christies, Motor Neurone Disease Association, Rossendale Hospice, Cancer Research, British Heart Foundation, Pendlebury Hospital and Macmillan Nurses. We would also like to thank the people of Ramsbottom for their support and generosity.
