THE new President of Peel Lions Club received a double honour this week after landing the post of chairman of the Lions Zone.

Tony Hodkin is more than ready to take on the dual role, having held the position of club vice-president last year and the presidency the year before.

He laughed: “Its a tough job but someone’s got to do it. As well as president, I have been given the position of chairman of the Lions Zone, which includes a number of local clubs.”

Tony (37) is well known in Ramsbottom through his work as owner of Bridge Street News.

Tony said: “Once again we will be helping local people who need it.”
