The Peel Lions Club hosted the popular annual event which takes in 14 Ramsbottom pubs.

Thirty-five contestants – some in teams of three – came dressed as characters including Dracula, The Simpsons and Andy Pandy as they made their way along the Rammy mile on Saturday.

Despite the pouring rain, spirits remained high and the teams raised £1,200 for charity. Money will be split between participants’ charities of choice and the Peel Lions Club, which puts its share back into local community projects.

Organiser Jimmy Hill said: “Everyone was very enthusiastic. This is the third year we’ve done it and it’s always a great event.”
